The Lost Twin — the Secret That Runs Your Life Without You Knowing

We talk a lot about the inner child.
About the wounds it carries. About the voice it has. About the work it needs.
And that matters. The inner child is real.
But there is something even deeper. Even less known. Something that most people have never heard of — and that nonetheless quietly and invisibly shapes the lives of many.
The lost twin.
What is the lost twin?
At the beginning of every life, there was perhaps not just one cell.
Sometimes two nestle in. Two small sparks of life — simultaneously, side by side, in the same place.
And then one loses the race. Before anyone noticed it was there. Before a heartbeat was heard. Before a name was ever thought.
It goes. Silently. Invisibly.
But on a soul level — the connection remains.
This is not an esoteric concept. It is a biological reality known in medicine as Vanishing Twin Syndrome — whose emotional effects most people cannot make sense of their entire lives, because they don't know this connection exists.
What it does to you — without you knowing
You carry someone inside you. Someone who never lived. Never laughed. Never felt the sun. Never ate, loved, or suffered.
And you — you live. You laugh. You eat. You love.
Deep in the subconscious, something emerges from this that cannot be named but shows itself:
Guilt without reason. The feeling of not being allowed too much joy. Not enjoying too much. Not shining too brightly. As if happiness is something you haven't quite earned.
Living for two. Sometimes literally — eating more than necessary, doing more than necessary, giving more than necessary. As if unconsciously living alongside someone who cannot do it themselves.
An inexplicable emptiness. The feeling that someone is missing. Not a person you know — but someone you never knew and miss anyway.
My story
I lived the joy of my twin — a being who was never in this world. Who never saw a sunset. Who never heard laughter. Who never existed — and whose joy I carried anyway.
For years.
And the food — I only noticed it in hindsight. My portions were always larger than normal. Not because I was hungry. Not because I gained weight — I never did. But because I unconsciously prepared for two. Ate for two. Lived for two.
Afterwards I noticed — I was taking fewer oats for my morning muesli. And thought: AHA, how interesting. One and one makes two. 😊
That is how concretely healing sometimes shows itself. In oats.
The chair in front of the canvas
For years I sat in front of the white canvas.
An idea was there. The will was there. The colours were there.
But I couldn't begin. Hours passed. Sometimes days. The canvas stayed white and I stayed lost.
Since I placed a chair for my twin beside my canvas — as an invitation, as a gesture — it flows like butter.
He is allowed to be there. To watch. To be creative through my hands — without me carrying his joy as guilt.
This is not a metaphor. This is what actually happened.
I sent him into freedom — and myself along with him.
With PSYCH-K® we looked at this connection. Directly. Without detours.
Not through years of talking about something that cannot be named. But through direct access to the subconscious — where this invisible connection truly lives.
I let him go. Into freedom.
And took myself along with him.
Do you recognise yourself?
Guilt without explanation.Resistance to genuine joy.The feeling of living alongside someone you don't know.Creative blockages that won't shift. An emptiness that remains no matter how much you fill it.
This doesn't have to be a lost twin.
But it could be.
And it is worth looking.
